Manage menu items, recipes, and production

To manage menu items, recipes, and production, start with catalog access plus verified prices, taxes, ingredients, yields, categories, and preparation rules. In Admin, search menu items, create menu item, edit recipe, and set recipe yield. Check prices, tax, variants, modifiers, recipe units, and yields before publishing changes that affect selling or stock consumption.

Before you start

Create or edit a recipe

Open or create the menu item in /catalog-items and add existing inventory ingredients using their recorded units.
Set the yield, review calculated quantities, save once, and reopen the recipe to verify it.

Record production

Open /catalog-items/production and choose the saved recipe and planned quantity.
Record the completed batch once and verify its production record and resulting stock evidence.

Expected result

The saved menu item contains valid inventory ingredients, units, and yield. A recorded production batch references the chosen recipe and quantity and produces a visible production record; planning or opening a recipe alone does not consume stock.

Permissions

Catalog-item listing follows its mounted catalog access; create, recipe edit, and production routes require catalog.write.

Troubleshooting

An ingredient or unit cannot be added to the recipe.

Verify the inventory item exists and its recorded unit is compatible with the recipe entry. Do not invent a conversion or duplicate the ingredient; correct the source item or choose the supported unit.

A batch record or stock effect is unclear.

Check the recipe, yield, planned quantity, production history, and current status before recording another batch. Escalate the item, batch reference, branch, quantities, units, and time.
