# Add a product by barcode

A connected scanner can send a barcode as keyboard input; TajerGo adds the matching product or reports that no product matches. Focus the register and scan the product barcode, confirm the matching item appears in the cart, and if no match is shown, search manually and ask an administrator to correct the barcode mapping. Review the final cart, customer, service mode, price, tax, notes, and stock state before checkout.

## Before you start

- An authenticated POS session for the intended branch.
- The current branch menu and register configuration have finished loading.

## Steps

1. Focus the register and scan the product barcode.
2. Confirm the matching item appears in the cart.
3. If no match is shown, search manually and ask an administrator to correct the barcode mapping.

## Expected result

One matching sellable product is added, or the register clearly reports that the barcode has no mapping. Keep the cart open and do not add the item again while its line state is uncertain.

## Permissions

- Register use requires POS access for the active branch; catalog, configuration, and stock corrections remain restricted to an authorized manager.

## Troubleshooting

### The scanner sends input, but no product is added and no “no match” message appears.

Click the register background and scan into a plain text field to confirm the device acts as a keyboard wedge. Return to Billing and scan once. If the barcode has no mapping, search manually and ask an authorized catalog manager to correct it; do not keep scanning into the cart.

### A scan adds the wrong item or increases an existing cart line unexpectedly.

Stop scanning and review the barcode, item name, variant, quantity, price, and branch. Remove only the incorrect line. Report the barcode, SKU, branch, and time; do not rescan until the mapping or cart state is clear.
