Manage operational configuration
To manage operational configuration, start with settings access and verified Business Account, branch, user, or configuration details. In Admin, select branch context, change configuration, review staged values, and save changes. Settings can affect every user or branch in scope, so review the selected Business Account and branch before saving.
Before you start
- Settings access and verified Business Account, branch, user, or configuration details
- Confirm whether the change is personal, Business Account-wide, or branch-specific before saving
Steps
- Open the Configuration section in Settings and select the branch whose operational settings you intend to change.
- Wait for that branch’s current values to load before editing any control.
- Change only the required values and review the staged-change indicators before saving once.
- If save fails, keep the staged values visible, correct the named field or reload the current record, and do not switch branches until the result is known.
Expected result
The selected branch configuration shows saved values after one successful submission. Staged, saved, failed, and discarded values remain distinguishable, and changing branch reloads that branch’s own configuration.
Permissions
- Settings requires settings.read to open; saving operational configuration requires settings.write for the selected Business Account or branch scope.
Troubleshooting
Configuration fails to load for the selected branch.
Keep the branch unchanged, retry loading once, and confirm the session branch matches the page. Do not edit placeholder or stale values; report the section, branch, route, and error.
A save fails or staged values remain.
Read the named field error, compare staged with current values, correct it, and submit once. Do not switch branches while status is unknown; reload only if you are prepared to discard staged edits.
