Review profit and food-cost reports
To review profit and food-cost reports, start with recorded source data, a reporting period, and the intended branch. In Admin, select profit report type, review brand and channel profit, compare theoretical and actual usage, and review menu engineering. Confirm the branch, period, filters, and source completeness before exporting or acting on a result.
Before you start
- Recorded source data, a reporting period, and the intended branch
- Filters define the result; recheck dates and branch before exporting or acting
Profit report
- Open /reports/profit/:reportType and choose the supported report type.
- Set the period and branch, review the detail behind the totals, and export only the reviewed scope.
Brand and channel profit and loss
- Open /reports/brand-channel-profit-loss and select like-for-like brands, channels, branches, and dates.
- Compare the visible revenue and cost evidence before using the margin result.
Theoretical versus actual usage
- Open /reports/theoretical-vs-actual and select the branch and period.
- Inspect recorded theoretical and actual quantities and investigate the source movement behind a variance.
Menu engineering
- Open /reports/menu-engineering and apply the intended item, branch, and period filters.
- Review the item evidence behind its classification before changing a product or recipe.
Expected result
Each selected profit, channel, usage-variance, or menu-engineering route shows its own scoped measures and evidence. No result from one report is presented as if it came from another route, and exports retain the reviewed filter scope.
Permissions
- Profit, brand/channel, theoretical-versus-actual, and menu-engineering routes accept reports.read or analytics.read as mounted in the Admin router.
Troubleshooting
A margin or usage result has no supporting rows.
Confirm the exact report route, branch, period, and availability of sales, cost, recipe, or channel source data. Do not infer missing cost or usage as zero; record the item or channel and missing source type.
The variance or export looks inconsistent.
Compare like-for-like units, periods, brands, and filters before refreshing once. Stop before changing recipes or prices, and escalate the report type, scope, displayed variance, and safe source references.
